The Payson area continues to be victimized by burglars as they invade homes, automobiles and businesses, primarily in the dark of night.
Detectives with the Payson Police and Gila County Sheriff's Departments this week have been called to the scene of business burglaries on S. Highway 87 in Payson and E. Highway 260 in Star Valley.
Both agencies are asking the public to heighten its state of alertness.
"Lock your doors, windows and get an alarm system if possible," GCSO Detective George Ratliff said. "People also need to know what they (own). Mark your valuables and record the makes and models."
Ratliff said it is frustrating to arrive on scene at a burglary and discover the victim does not know the make or model of their television, stereo, guns or other items.
Anyone seeing suspicious activity, especially late at night or in the early morning hours, is asked to contact the police department at 474-5177 or the sheriff's office at 474-2208.
