When Kevin Vry died of kidney cancer in 1999, his young son Patrick was afraid no one would remember his father, but his employer, Barry Grant of US Homes, found a most appropriate way.

With the help of US Homes subcontractors and his co-workers, Grant led a drive to build Kevin's Lodge, a medical facility for children who attend Arizona Camp Sunrise, the American Cancer Society's camp for children with cancer.

The facility was dedicated Feb. 3 at the camp, which is located on the R-C Ranch just north of Kohl's Ranch on Highway 260.

Arizona Camp Sunrise offers a variety of programs for children who have or have had cancer in their families.

For more information about the camp, call Tina Peoples at (800) 865-1582.
