Maxine Lillian Ronning, 64, of Babbitt, Minn. died Feb. 11, 2001, at her home. She was born May 7, 1936, to Herbert and Lillian (Carlson) Johnson in Minneapolis, Minn.
Mrs. Ronning grew up in the Oak Knoll and Wayzata area, graduating from Wayzata High School in 1954. In 1957, she was married to Thomas A. Ronning in Wayzata and they then lived in Spain. A housewife, she also was self-employed with her husband, living in Hinsdale, Ill; Shorewood, Minn.; Grand Rapids, Minn.; Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; Payson, Ariz. and finally Babbitt, Minn. Her interests included her family, home projects and knitting.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Ronning, of Babbitt, Minn.; one daughter, Laura and her husband, Bob Kvas, of Rosemount, Minn.; one son, Erik Thomas Ronning, of Littleton, Colo.; one brother, Rev. David F. Johnson, of Arcadia, Wis.; and one grandson, Ryan Kvas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Lillian Johnson, and a brother, Herbert T. Johnson, Jr.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14 at the Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids, Minn.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 14 at the Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, Minn.
Burial will be at Itasca-Calvary Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Minn.
