I couldn't agree with (your Feb. 13 editorial, "Rated R means 'really think about it'") more. What can parents possibly be thinking when they take small children to R-rated films?
I have been thinking for a few weeks now that G-rated movies are scarce at Sawmill Theatres, and was going to call the "What's Up" line about it.
My young grandchildren were visiting recently, and I wanted to take them to the movies on Saturday afternoon, but there was nothing offered but PG-13 and above films. The children in our family don't see those movies until they are at least 11 or 12, so our only option was to go to the video store and rent a movie that was appropriate.
It truly does take a village to raise children, and it would be nice to have the support of the movie theater in offering films appropriate for all ages. There are six screens there, after all.
Please keep up the good work defending what's right for our community.
