Robert W. Brooks, 71, of Payson, died Feb. 22, 2001, at his home in Sun Lakes.
Mr. Brooks, a Chandler native and lifelong Valley resident, farmed in Queen Creek for 28 years before retiring to the Bar T Bar Ranch in Payson. He was a member and past president of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Posse and the Queen Creek Farm Bureau. He also was a member of the ED6 Board and the Rim Country Four Wheel Club.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mina Brooks; one son, Gregory and his wife, Kathy Brooks; two daughters, Jeanie and her husband, Russell Carlson, and Cindy and her husband, Kip Wolfe; one brother, Waymon and his wife, Marilyn Brooks; two sisters, Vernell Stiles, and Carolyn and her husband, Don Barnes; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Steven Carl Brooks in 1965 and one grandson, Jason Charlson in 1999.
Visitation was held Feb. 26 at Bueler Mortuary in Chandler.
Services were held today (Tuesday, Feb. 27) at Pleasant Ward LDS Chapel in Chandler
Donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
Arrangements were handled by Bueler Mortuary of Chandler.
