While working away on my annual "who wants to do what, where and when" column, my computer broke, sending smoke billowing into the air in angry protest. Then the dog ate my homework.
So here is your chance to help me out.
I would like to publish every organization, group, gathering and function that happens here in Pine-Strawberry.
Are you looking for members? Do you want people to know how to donate to your cause, lend a helping hand or join you for fun?
Please write, call, fax or e-mail me the information you'd like to share with the community. (I've lost a good deal of information even about our regulars so this means all of you.)
Write to: Myndi Brogdon, HCR 01 Box 1544, Strawberry, AZ 85544; call 476-2500 and leave a detailed message; fax to 476-2870 or send an e-mail to mbrogdon@ theriver.com.
Thanks, and be sure to check this column next week for a complete "what to do" list.
The New Year brings a couple of new faces to the Church on Randall Place. Pastor John Lake is the new interim pastor of the little white church on Randall Place just west of Highway 87. Pastor Jerry Green and his wife, Nancy, have retired after serving two dedicated years in Pine.
Pastor Lake and his wife, Simone, have lived in Payson for 10 years and are most well known for spinning their wheels over at Manzanita Cyclery. Both graduated from Grand Canyon University. Service times will remain the same: Sunday school at 9:45 a.m., Sunday worship and word at 11 a.m. and a Wednesday prayer meeting gathers at 7 p.m.
For more information, call the church at 476-4249 or call John and Simone at 472-6439. If you've just moved to the area, you can e-mail John at email@example.com.
