Emma Naomi McKnight Boyle, 101, of Payson, Ariz., died Jan. 4, 2001. She was born Sept. 4, 1899, in Enid, Okla. When she was 5 years old, she and her family traveled from Colorado to Oklahoma in a covered wagon.
Mrs. Boyle and her husband, Floyd, farmed in the Ripley, Okla. area for many years. Mrs. Boyle lived in Oklahoma, Tucson and Safford before moving to Payson in 1994. She lived in Anderson House in Payson for the past three and a half years.
Mrs. Boyle taught Sunday school and was a devoted church-goer throughout her life.
Survivors include one daughter, Norma Lee Allen and her husband, Robert, of Payson; four sons, Sylvester Eugene Boyle and his wife, Jewell, of Safford, Elbert Ivan Boyle and his wife, Rita, of Stillwater, Okla., Kenneth Franklin Boyle and his wife, Lorene, of Ripley, Okla., and Floyd Marvin Boyle and his wife, Clarice, of Payson; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 15 great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Floyd J. Boyle, and one daughter, Elva Loe Rene Yount.
Services were held Jan. 8 in Safford.
