Boyd Lindsey


Boyd Eugene Lindsey, 79, of Tonto Basin, died Jan. 18, 2001, in Payson. He was born July 20, 1921, to William Edgar and Violet Young Lindsey in Arrington, Kan.

Mr. Lindsey served in the United States Navy during World War II and was held in a Japanese prison camp for 27 months. He worked for 37 years as a truck driver.

Mr. Lindsey had several hobbies including leatherworks. He was active in the community and was a member of the Kiwanis Club, VFW and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Lindsey, of Tonto Basin, who he married Dec. 8, 1988; one brother, Paul Lindsey of Spanish Fork, Utah; three daughters, Pamela Rosen of Tonopah, Ariz., Violet Mae Golden of Dayton, Ohio and Judith Aaron of Gilbert, Ariz.; two sons, Jerry Brubridge of Bremerton, Wash. and Loal Brubridge of Morenci, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3 in the Tonto Basin School gym.
