Due to high demand, we've added a second session for the youth tumbling program. The additional class will meet from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 12 to March 7. Participants must be in grades K to 6. The fee is $15 per child, and class size is limited to the first 40 participants to sign-up. This class fills quickly, so sign up now.
Register now for the youth wrestling program, held from 3:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 20 to March 22. Participants must be in grades 2 to 6. The fee is $15 per child, and class size is limited to the first 50 participants to signup.
Seventh- and Eighth-Grade Basketball
We're now accepting late registration for seventh- and eighth-grade basketball. Entry fee is $25 per child. The fee includes a T-shirt and a team pizza party. Games will be played on Saturdays and some weeknights beginning in mid-February and ending by March 31.
NBA 2Ball Competition
This free competition will be held at 3 p.m., Feb. 3 at the Tonto Apache Reservation gym. The program allows boys and girls ages 8-9 and 10-11 to test their basketball skills while teaching teamwork, sportsmanship and fundamentals. Each two-person team has one minute to score as many baskets as possible from the designated shooting spots on the court. Winners in each division advance to the area competition, and possibly to the championships at an NBA arena. Age is determined as of Jan. 1, 2001. Registration forms are available at the Parks and Rec Office.
Boys/Girls Fifth- & Sixth-Grade Basketball Tournaments
These tournaments are open to all teams, local and out-of-town, who want to participate. Tournament date is Saturday, March 31 for both tournaments. Registration is $100 per team and is limited to the first 12 teams to sign up in both divisions. Registration deadline is Friday, March 23.
Laughlin or Bust!

Grab a Pole
Fishing poles and mini tackle boxes are available at the Parks and Rec office, 1000 W. Country Club Drive. You must be 18 years and older to check out the fishing poles, but anglers of all ages may use them free of charge. The program is sponsored by the Arizona Game and Fish Department.
