Robert Samarripas, who was arrested June 26 during a drug raid in central Payson, will appear at a pretrial hearing Tuesday in Gila County Superior Court on drugs and weapons charges.
The Gila County Attorney's office has charged Samarripas with misconduct with a weapon, possession of marijuana for sale and three counts of involving a minor in a drug offense.
Payson Police officers said the 18-year-old was carrying a .22 caliber semi-automatic handgun when they raided an apartment on South Ash Street and found Samarripas, four other adults and four teenagers surrounded by marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Samarripas ran and tossed the gun into a garbage can before he was caught and arrested, Payson Police Officer Matt Van Camp said last week.
Samarripas was arrested along with his 21-year-old brother, Michael, 19-year-old Rita Alvarado, 18-year-old Dena Pittman, three 17-year-olds and one 16-year-old.
Robert Samarripas is being held in the Gila County jail in Payson without bond. Michael Samarripas, was transferred on a warrant from the county jail in Payson to the Maricopa County jail in Phoenix. Alvarado and Pittman have been released.
The county attorney's office is awaiting drug test results on Samarripas, Pittman, Alvarado and the teenagers before deciding whether to pursue charges.
