I hope that future executions in this country will get the press that McVeigh has gotten. Each and every time that the death penalty is carried out, it should be front page news in every city across America. Then, for one thing, we could start to silently ponder which of the executed were actually innocent people.
Then we might begin to see the twisted perversion in killing people, whether by bombs, tanks, sniper fire or lethal injection. For through the administration of the death penalty, we not only diminish life itself, but come, as a nation, to embody the very evil we so desperately try to destroy.
