The trial of murder suspect Paul Roosen has been postponed until Aug. 28. Roosen will be tried in Gila County Superior Court, and will be prosecuted by Pinal County attorneys.
Roosen was accused of the February 2000 murder of Calista Wright, who was fatally wounded in her Star Valley home.
Roosen also was charged with attempted first-degree murder for trying to shoot Wright's husband, Garrett. The suspect was later apprehended by sheriff's deputies, and was booked into Gila County jail where he remains in lieu of a $1 million bond.
Gila County Attorney Jim Hazel was Roosen's defense attorney before he was elected last November. He asked Pinal County to help with the case when he was elected the county's chief prosecutor.
