The wiley veteran who would rather walk the course than ride in a cart has done it again.
Marge Landra, a Payson Women's Golf Association member about as long as anyone can remember, won her sixth Arizona State Medallion tournament Tuesday on Payson Golf Course.
In winning the four-week state tournament, Landra put together low-gross tallies of 76 and 83 (159).
In the tournament format, the championship is determined by the two best scores of the four rounds.
With an 83 and 86 (169), Laura Meyocks finished as the low-gross runner-up.
Kay Davis, also a veteran member of the PWGA, claimed the state medallion low-net championship with a 130.
More than 40 PWGA members participated in the tournament.
In a PWGA Eclectic tournament played Tuesday, Meyocks claimed the A flight championship over Joyce Karnes and Ruth Overton, who tied for second.
In B flight play, Lynn Kools was first and Mary Jones second.
Brenda Baker claimed the C flight championship, edging runner-up Kay Davis.
D flight play saw Iris Ortega finish first and Wilma Smith second.
