Motorists traveling on Highway 260 in the Preacher Canyon area from today (Friday) to Sunday, July 8 can expect periodic five-minute delays between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to allow construction vehicles to cross the roadway.
Construction workers, who are widening and improving the highway in that area, will be pouring concrete on the bridge decks away from the travel lanes, minimizing traffic delays.
Motorists driving vehicles that are more than 12-feet wide must contact construction contractor D.H. Blattner at (928) 468-2004 to be escorted through the project. Blattner officials request 24-hour notice.
Beginning Monday, July 9, nighttime hauling will take place between the hours of 7 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Nighttime hauling will continue Monday through Thursday through the month of July.
Flaggers will be in the area to direct traffic. Speed limits will be posted at 45 mph. Traffic delays are expected to be up to 15 minutes during the night work.
Motorists traveling in the area are asked to obey the posted speed limit signs and be alert for construction equipment and crews working along the highway.
Efforts will be made to maintain emergency access at all times. For more information, call (866) 260-4636.
