Concert Under the Stars at Green Valley Park
The summer concert series at Green Valley Park continues this Saturday with music by Rhythm City Express, a 9-piece horn-driven band that plays songs from the '60s, '70s and '80s. The free concerts are held each Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. through Aug. 11. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic baskets, and enjoy. In case of rain, the concerts will be held at the Payson High School auditorium.
July 4th in the Park
Join us for a day of fun at Green Valley Park, Wednesday, July 4. Games begin at 3 p.m., with a concert from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and fireworks at 9:15 p.m. All events are free.
Avoid traffic by riding the complimentary shuttle buses. Park your vehicle anywhere at Rumsey Park and board one of our speedy buses for a quick trip to the festivities.

Girls Soccer Camp
Girls entering 7th through 12th grades are invited to attend this two-day camp led by NAU's head women's soccer coach, Andre Luciano. Camp will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, July 6 and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7. The fee is $33 per person payable at the Parks & Recreation office. Space is limited to the first 30 participants.
Copper State Hoop Clinic
Boys entering fifth through eighth grades are invited to attend this clinic conducted by Jam director/Shelby School coach Steve Rensch.
The clinic will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon, July 9-13 and July 16-20 at the Payson High School gym. The fee is $40 for one week or $75 for both weeks. Co-sponsored by Parks & Recreation. Sign up today.
Summer Recreation Center
Youth who have completed 4th - 10th grades are invited to attend the Recreation Center at Rim Country Middle School gym this summer. The center offers basketball, volleyball, ping-pong, billiards and a variety of other activities. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, through July 27. No registration is required; admission is free.
Registration for Session D begins at 8 a.m. Friday, July 6. The fee is $15 per child until 2 p.m. July 12. After that time, late registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for $20 per child. Swimming lessons for Session D will be held July 16 through July 27.
Late registration is under way for Session C, which begins July 2.
First Grade Dog Obedience Class
Dogs four months and older accompanied by humans 12 years and older are invited to attend this class at Green Valley Park. The class meets from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays from July 12 through Aug. 16. Dogs must have updated vaccinations and a current license, as well as a collar and leash. A minimum of 8 and a maximum of 15 participants will be accepted. The fee is $35, payable at the Parks and Rec office.
Kid's Craft Camp
Participants will create handmade crafts, including a T-shirt of their own. This two-week class meets at Rumsey Park, Monday through Thursday for the following dates:
Session 2: July 9-12 and July 16-19
9-10 a.m., Moms & Tots (ages 3 to 5);
10:15 to noon, Ages 10-12.
Registration is $25 per child, which includes all project materials. Enrollment is limited to 10 children per class, and they will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Arizona Diamondbacks Baseball
Learn from the pros at Diamondback Baseball Camp July 9-13. Registration is $150 per child and is open to boys and girls ages 7-14. Camp will be held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. daily at PHS Varsity Baseball Field. Registration forms are available online at www.azdiamondbacks.com.
