Howard Evans, 71, of Payson, died Feb. 18, 2001, while on vacation in Riverside, Calif. He was born March 12, 1929.
Mr. Evans lived in Payson for the past 21 years, where he was in the vending machine and pool table business. Before moving to Payson, Mr. Evans lived in Phoenix, where he was employed by Maricopa County as a building inspector. He also was a carpenter and cabinet builder by trade. He also was a gun collector, model airplane builder, avid tennis player, volunteer fireman for the Payson Fire Department for eight years, and a Korean War veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Karen, of Phoenix, seven children and 12 grandchildren.
