James H. Swinghammer, 69, died Feb. 26, 2001, in Scottsdale. He was born to Thomas and Florence Swinghammer Dec. 4, 1931, in Toledo, Ohio.

He graduated from Toledo University with a degree in mechanical engineering. Mr. Swinghammer and his wife, Donna, moved to Strawberry after retiring in 1993.

Mr. Swinghammer was a member of the Farmington Lodge No. 151, F & A Masons, Farmington, Mich., the Rim Country 4-Wheel Drive Club, and was active with the Pine-Strawberry Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Swinghammer, of Strawberry; mother, Florence Swinghammer, of Maumee, Ohio; one daughter, Desiree, and her husband, Steve Muldoon, of Farmington, Mich.; three stepsons, Dennis Smith of Belair, Md., Steve Smith of Flagstaff and Randy Smith of Fremont, Ohio; one brother, Thomas, and his wife, Jean Swinghammer, of Tomball, Texas; seven grandchildren, Matthew and Luke Muldoon of Farmington, Mich., Aaron and Michael Smith of Belair, Md. Ryan and Chelsea Smith of Roswell, N.M. and Kyle Smith of Fremont, Ohio; one niece, Linda Nagy of Toledo, Ohio; and two nephews, Craig and Todd Swinghammer of Tomball, Texas.
