Kenneth J. Nash, 67, of Guymon, Okla., died Feb. 27, 2001, in Amarillo, Texas. He was born Feb. 15, 1934, in Helena, Mont. to Byron George and Faith Elizabeth (Stecker) Nash.
He grew up in Seattle, Wash. At the age of 13 he moved to Hespiria, Calif. to live with his grandmother. On June 30, 1952, Mr. Nash joined the U.S. Navy. He served his country aboard the U.S.S. Mount Baker. After an honorable discharge June 12, 1956, he moved to Oregon where he worked in the sawmills.
Mr. Nash moved to Guymon in 1983 and worked for Hitch Feeders. In 1987 he left Guymon to be near his friends, Joe and Micki Pierce who were living in Payson. He worked at Weber's IGA Grocers until an illness in 1996. At that time, he moved back to Guymon.
Mr. Nash enjoyed fishing and spent many hours at Sunset Lake. He also enjoyed playing solitaire, putting together jigsaw puzzles, growing plants and listening to music.
Mr. Nash attended the First Baptist Church in Guymon. He was baptized at an early age and had recently re-dedicated his life to the Lord.
Survivors include his best friends and caregivers, Joe and Micki Pierce and Jody, Charla and Josh Pierce, all of Guymon; special friend, Alice Wilson, of Payson, and many other friends and caregivers.
Services were held March 3 at the Guymon First Baptist Church. Interment was in the Elmhurst Cemetery.
