Time is running out to save your seat on our bus trip to Laughlin, March 26, 27 & 28. Just a few seats left! Choose between a single room for $80 or a double room for just $65 per person. Price includes transportation by deluxe motor coach, three days/two nights at the Edgewater Hotel & Casino, one buffet meal and one "fun book." Coed Softball League

Registration will continue until March 16. Recreation and competitive divisions will be offered as long as a minimum of four teams sign up for each division. The fee is $200 per team, which includes a tournament. Awards will be given for the tournament only. Games begin in April.

5th & 6th Grade Boys & Girls Basketball Tournaments

These tournaments are open to all teams, local and out-of-town, who want to participate. Tournament date is Saturday, March 31 for both tournaments. Registration is $100 per team and is limited to the first 12 teams to sign up in both divisions. Registration deadline is Friday, March 23.

Take A Hike! (to Tunnel Trail)

Look for signs of spring April 26 as we trek through the tall pines northeast of Payson and climb up the Mogollon Rim to the "Tunnel to Nowhere." The trail is just over three miles round trip and is rated as "moderately difficult." Participants should be in good health and accustomed to physical activity. Hikers must bring their own water and sack lunch for the trail. The fee is $10 per person, which includes transportation and a light snack and beverage at the trailhead after the excursion. This trip is limited to the first 10 registrants. The registration deadline is Friday, April 13.

Lifeguard Training Class

If you're age 15 or older, you can become a certified lifeguard by completing the American Red Cross "Lifeguard Training for the Professional Lifeguard" classes April 30 to May 12. Classes will be held Monday to Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Fee for the class includes Lifeguard Training, C.P.R. and First Aid. Registration fee is $50 per person. Participants must register at the Parks & Rec office by 5 p.m. Friday, April 27. This class is for new lifeguards, or those who need to update their certification.

Water Safety Instructor Course

If you're age 17 or older and have strong swimming skills, enroll in this class May 14 through 26. Classes will be held Monday to Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Upon completion, you'll be eligible to teach lessons at Taylor Pool or anywhere American Red Cross lessons are offered. Registration fee is $50 per person. This class is for new instructors, or for those who need to recertify.
