Coed Softball League
Registration will continue until Friday, March 16. Recreation and competitive divisions will be offered as long as a minimum of four teams sign up for each division. The fee is $200 per team, which includes a tournament. Awards will be given for the tournament only. Games begin in April.
5th & 6th Grade Boys & Girls Basketball Tournaments
These tournaments are open to all teams, local and out-of-town, who want to participate. Tournament date is Saturday, March 31 for both tournaments. Registration is $100 per team and is limited to the first 12 teams to sign up in both divisions. Registration deadline is Friday, March 23.
Lifeguard Training Class
If you're age 15 or older you can become a certified lifeguard by completing the American Red Cross "Lifeguard Training for the Professional Lifeguard" classes April 30 - May 12. Classes will be held Monday - Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Fee for the class includes Lifeguard Training, C.P.R. and First Aid. Registration fee is $50 per person. Participants must register at the Parks and Recreation Office by 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 27. This class is for new lifeguards, or those who need to update their certification.
Water Safety Instructor Course
If you're age 17 or older and have strong swimming skills, enroll in this class May 14 - 26. Classes will be held Monday - Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Upon completion, you'll be eligible for lessons at Taylor Pool or anywhere American Red Cross lessons are offered. Registration fee is $50 per person. This class is for new instructors, or for those who need to update their certification.
Grab a Pole
Fishing poles and mini tackle boxes are available at the Parks & Recreation office, 1000 W. Country Club Drive. You must be 18 years and older to check out the fishing poles, but anglers of all ages may use them free of charge. The program is sponsored by Arizona Game and Fish.
