Quilters comfort trauma victims

The Strawberry Patchers, the local chapter of the Arizona Quilters Guild, is completing its annual quiltathon today (Friday). The club conducts the annual quiltathon to make quilts for children who've been involved in traumatic situations. The club gives the quilts to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. The officers keep the quilts in their patrol cars and use them to comfort traumatized children.

Since 1990, the guild has made and delivered 2,062 quilts to DPS headquarters. Club members will be working until 4 p.m. at the Pine Community Center, and visitors are welcome.
