Lorraine Cornwell Vance, 70, of Youngtown, Ariz., died Feb. 28, 2001. She was born June 24, 1930, in Vaders, Mont.

Lorraine and her husband, Jim, lived in the Payson area for several years. She was an active member of the American Legion Post No. 69, and posts in Phoenix; Rim Country Faternal Order of Eagles No. 4376 and Phoenix VFW. Lorraine was a retired security officer and restaurant owner. She held the office of trustee in both the Legion and the Eagles.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Vance, of Youngtown, Ariz.; two sons, Ken Myers of Phoenix, Steven and his wife, Sheryl Myers, of Tacoma, Wash.; two daughters, Joanne and her husband, John McCann, of Savanna, Ga., Kathy and her husband, Al Batcher, of Athens, Texas; one brother, Kenneth Martinz of Montana; one nephew, David Martinz of Big Timber, Mont.; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial was held at the American Legion Post 69 and at Glendale Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 2843 at the VFW in Glendale.
