What's Up

Traveling north into Payson just past the light at the casino, motorists used to be able to make a left onto McLane Road.

That crossover has been removed as part of some road work. Is it permanent?

Answer:

The access to McLane Road has been removed as part of an Arizona Department of Transportation project, and it will not be replaced, according to Town of Payson Public Works Engineer LaRon Garrett.

Ultimately McLane Road will not even connect to Highway 87. "It's a safety issue," Garrett said.
