Coleman E. Savage, 86, of Payson died May 12, 2001. He was born Jan. 26, 1915 in Winslow, Ariz.
He graduated from Winslow High School in 1933 and attended Northern Arizona University to play football.
He managed Standard Oil stations for several years before he became a conductor for Santa Fe Railroad for almost 38 years.
Coleman married Elaine Demarest June 25, 1936. Upon his retirement he moved to Payson.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Savage of Payson; sister, Jessamine Babaunx of New Iberia, La.; daughter, Nelaine and her husband Pat Lowry of Winslow; two grandsons, John and his wife Carmella Bolton of Payson; and Patrick and his wife Karen Lowry of Lake Havasu City; granddaughter, Susie and her husband Mike Carlson of Winslow; Seven great-grandchildren, L.G. Bolton of Colorado Springs, Colo., Alicia Carlson of Winslow, Shawn and Brandon Bolton of Fort Knox, Ky. Tyler and Megan Lowry of Lake Havasu City; and Paula Steward of Payson.
Services were held Wednesday, May 16 at Desert View Cemetery.
