Paul Albert Imel, 80, of Payson, died May 20, 2001, in Payson. He was born Dec. 8, 1920, in Piatt County, Ill. Mr. Imel and his wife, Patricia, were married for 60 years.

Mr. Imel lived in Payson for 18 years. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps (1938), lifetime Mason, and an employee of A.E. Staley Manufacturing Company for 40 years.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia "Pat" Imel of Payson; one daughter, Paula and her husband, Wayne W. Zientara, of Dublin, Ohio; one brother, Kenneth Imel of Tucson; five sisters, Velma "Toni" Imel of Payson, Elsie and her husband, Earl Hutchinson, of Payson, Jeanette and her husband, Carl Weible, of Payson, Patty and her husband, George Gilmore, of Champaign, Ill. and Wilma Phillips of Decatur, Ill.; and one granddaughter, Gina Zientar, of Bloomington, Ind.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

No services are planned.
