Rim Civic Orchestra Needs Players, Public Relations Person

As a member of the Rim Civic Orchestra, I would like to say "thank you" to all who attended our last concert. Also, as one who just took part in the last concert, there are a few comments I would like to make.

One: Help, help. A plea was put forth for (someone to handle our) public relations. I do not know if we have a volunteer or not, but if you are interested, please contact us. We, in the orchestra, along with our other jobs, have to attend one practice per week, practice at home to prepare for the concerts, and do not really have the time to devote to public relations.

Two: Yes, we play band music because there are no strings to carry the string parts. I know for a fact that there are people out there who have not picked up their violin, viola, cello or bass (who) could come and practice with us. No instrument? No excuse. Arrangements can be made for an instrument for you to use.

Three: Where are all you retired people who once played in a high school orchestra or played an instrument? In September, when we start our new season, we (could) use you in our community orchestra. Not good enough? I am not the best, I am not the worst, and sometimes the director and I get frustrated at my mistakes. But I like to play music, so after 40 years of not playing I started in again. We will give you support, and with work and dedication we can have a real "Rim Civic Orchestra."
