Students Invited To Theater Workshop

Rim country children in grades two through eight can spend three weeks in June participating in a musical theater workshop that will culminate in a production of "The Wizard of Oz."

The workshop, sponsored by the Payson Unified School District, is open to public, private and home-schooled students. It features hands-on instruction in auditioning, acting, singing, dancing, costumes and make-up. Instructors include teachers, Payson High School drama students and professional actors from the Phoenix Children's Theater.

The workshop runs from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. daily at the high school auditorium, beginning June 11. It will culminate with two public performances June 28 and 29.

The total cost of the workshop is $60, with a $20 non-refundable down payment due at the time of registration.

Registration forms are available at Payson, Frontier and Julia Randall elementary schools, Rim Country Middle School, Payson Community Christian School and Seventh-Day Adventist Elementary School.
