Payson Women's Golf Association member Alesha Calderwood has turned in a day on the links that would make any golfer proud.
In addition to playing on the winning foursome May 29, Calderwood pocketed closest-to-the-pin prize money on hole #5 and #17.
"She had a real good day. Every once in a while those come along," fellow PWGA member Lynn Kools said.
On the gold-medal PWGA team with Calderwood were Dee Orr, Marge Landra and Shirley Smith. The team turned in a card of 123 that bested by a single stroke the runner-up foursome of Laura Meyocks, Billy Gibbs, Nita Wendelboe and Brenda Baker
In the closest-to-the-pin competition, Calderwood a 10-year member of the PWGA won on hole #5 with a tee shot that left her 2 feet 5 inches shy of the pin.
On hole #17, she swatted to within 7 feet, 10 inches of the pin.
"Those were truly amazing," Calderwood said.
Members of the PWGA will return to Payson Golf Course June 5 for their traditional weekly tournament.
