A. Carter Rogers II, 57, former Camp Verde mayor, died Oct. 31, 2001. He was born April 4, 1944 in Los Angeles, Calif.

He was a fire management officer for the forest service for more than 20 years, served 12 years as a Camp Verde councilman and was the mayor for the town for seven years and worked in the Verde Valley Fair Association for more than 20 years.

Carter married Ada Holder from Payson after high school.

Survivors include his wife, Ada C. Rogers of Camp Verde; one daughter, Audra Rogers of Tucson; one son, Tray Rogers and his wife Jamie of Camp Verde; and one granddaughter.

Memorial services were held Nov. 4 at the Church of Christ in Camp Verde.
