To welcome trick or treaters to my house, I put a fresh pumpkin on the outside table and lit my porch light.
At 9 p.m. when the costumed children stopped coming, I went out to bring in my pumpkin. What a disappointment. Someone had stolen it. The children who came to my door were very friendly and thanked me for their treat. I was happy to participate in the Halloween spirit, but after tonight's theft, no more.
