Easy Street Accident Claims Life Of 44-Year-Old Payson Man

Frank Doran, 44, of Payson was killed when the vehicle he was driving collided with the hitch of a fifth-wheel trailer.

The collision took place around 2 a.m. Wednesday near the 900 block of North Easy Street.

Doran was traveling north on Easy Street, driving a 1987 Chevrolet S-10 pickup, when he veered off the west side of the road, traveling several feet before striking the hitch of the fifth wheel parked in a driveway.

The impact caused the hitch to tear through the driver's side dash and steering wheel before striking Doran. When police and medical personnel arrived, the vehicle was resting in a ditch about 50 feet north of the collision point.

Doran was pronounced dead at the scene. Police do not believe speed was the cause of the accident, however, they do feel alcohol may have been a contributing factor.
