Harry Potter Misrepresents Witchcraft

To the Christian it is no mystery why Harry Potter is such a huge success. People are looking for good to triumph over evil especially today in light of Sept. 11. People view this movie as good versus evil and good wins out.

What they don't understand is this witchcraft is evil and there is no good in it. You cannot defeat evil with another form of evil. We in America call upon God to bless this nation and to intercede on our behalf in the war on terrorism, but based on the sell-out crowds who have embraced the Potter movie, where does our loyalty really lie. Do we really believe a God of righteousness can bless us when we whore after the things of darkness?

In His Word (the Bible), he says in Deuteronomy 18:9-12 when you enter the land your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead.

Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord. It should be obvious to us that this movie promotes the use of sorcery and witchcraft.

Parents wake up! This is not an innocent movie. Witchcraft is a real source of demonic power. Only the shed blood of Jesus Christ can overcome the evil of witchcraft. Christians, wake up. Stand up for what is good and holy. Don't support this movie. Pray for God's love and mercy to open the eyes of the people's understanding, that we may truly be a nation whose God is the Lord.
