Marion Andrew Deal, 81, of Payson, died Oct. 3, 2001, in Payson. He was born Dec. 25, 1919 in Hayti, Mo.

Mr. Deal was a card dealer and an avid golfer. He was a highly decorated war veteran with five bronze stars and numerous campaign ribbons and spent 20 years in the Army. He was in World War II, and Korea. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.

Survivors include two sisters, Rena M. Linderman of Payson and Virginia Sheldon and her husband Kenneth of Inverness, Fla.; one niece, Bonnie Baum and her husband Glenn of Payson; two grandnieces, Lois and Tina; two grandnephews, J.D. and Edward; and numerous great grandnieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7 at Payson Care Center, 107 E. Lone Pine, Payson, AZ 85541.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9 at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix.

Donations can be made to RTA Hospice, 107 E. Frontier Street, Payson, AZ. 85541.
