Greenspoon Made Main Street Program Viable In Show Low

To the Mayor Ray Schum and the Town Council of Payson:

It has been brought to my attention that people from the City of Payson are inquiring about the Main Street program in Show Low.

I have been on the board for almost three years now. When Karen Greenspoon left, our Executive Board met to develop plans to hire another director. That took several months for many reasons. We had to place an ad in the newspaper, go through the resumes, and set interview times when all four of us could meet with the candidates. It was not our intention to take seven months, but we did manage to keep the program going with monthly board meetings and did find a good replacement for Karen.

The program Karen built up was incredible. Show Low Main Street has the largest membership base of any Main Street program in the state. Our fund-raisers were very successful.

The beautification projects done around the city were numerous and we were often highlighted in the newspaper.

The success of our organization was due to Karen's hard work, commitment to the program, organizational skills and ease of dealing with the public, business owners, the Main Street board, and city officials. Her absence is still felt but the program is very strong due to her efforts while she was here.. Show Low Main Street is a valued and viable program in our city.
