May all the world remember
There is beauty to be found in the bleakness.
Out from the screams and wails of despair,
Some uttered with a final breath.
Beneath the tons of rubble
Lies a world waiting to be saved.
Through cracks in concrete
The Light finds it's way through.
A lifesaving hand reaches in to grasp another
It might otherwise never have touched.
Eyes meet filled with tears
Absent for now is the silent inquiry "Who are you?"
As the answer is so apparent:
We are Human, you and I,
Today bound together by that circle of Humanity
From this day we stand reminded
We are more to each other than we regularly recall
May all the world remember
May all the world one day be at peace.
