Wendell K. Bond, 77, of Payson, died Oct. 12, 2001. He was the first baby born July 22, 1924 in the refinery town of Sinclair, Wyo.
After working 20 years at the Sinclair refinery, Mr. Bond moved to Colorado where he worked for Parks School of Business and the Littleton Public Schools.
He served in the United States Air Force with Barry Goldwater in the Pacific during World War II. He was also an active member of the American Legion, Elks, Moose and the Anglican Church.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Alice M. Bond; one daughter, Mary L. Bond of Seattle, Wash.; one son, Bruce Bond of Littleton, Colo.; and one granddaughter, Katya A. Bond.
Memorial services were held Monday, Oct. 15 at Holy Nativity Anglican Church.
Interment services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19 at the Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
