The NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition allows boys and girls ages 8-15 to show their football skills in punting, passing and place-kicking.
Scores are based on distance and accuracy. The local competition will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at the Rumsey Park multipurpose field.
Ages 8-11 will begin at 5:30 p.m.; ages 12-15 will compete at 6:30 p.m.

Adult Coed Volleyball
Registration for adult coed volleyball will be held Aug. 27 to Sept. 14. Competitive and recreation divisions will be offered, with a four-team minimum for both divisions.
Entry fee is $150 per team and includes an end-of-season tournament. Games begin Sept. 30 and end on or before Dec. 2.
Laughlin or Bust!
There are a few seats left on the town's trip to Laughlin, Oct. 31 to Nov. 2. Choose between a single room for $75 or a double room for just $60 per person. Price includes transportation on an Arrow Stage Lines deluxe motor coach, three days/two nights at the Riverside Resort & Casino, one buffet meal and one "funbook." 31st Annual Old Time Fiddlers Contest
Musicians and music lovers travel far and wide to attend this annual event, which is also the Arizona State Championship.
The contest takes place at the Payson Event Center Sept. 29 and 30.
Divisions include Junior, Young Adult, Adult Senior, Trick & Fancy and Twin Fiddle divisions. Come and enjoy other activities such as Cowboy Poets, Storytellers, Arts & Crafts and Dancers from around the country participating in this Payson tradition. Gates open at 9 a.m.
Admission is $5 for adults, or $2 for ages 6-16.
First Grade Dog Obedience Class
A dog-obedience class, sponsored by the Town of Payson, will be held from Sept. 20 to Oct. 25 at Green Valley Park. Dogs four months and older accompanied by humans 12 years and older The class meets from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday nights.
Dogs must have updated vaccinations and a current license, as well as a collar and leash. A minimum of 8 and a maximum of 20 participants will be accepted.
The fee is $35, payable at the Parks & Recreation office.
