I know that you are personally, physically many miles from New York and the other places of devastation, but felt compelled to send my sympathy to you and your fellow countrymen following this most horrible day in history.
I think that everyone in Australia has come close to tears at some time during the day as the full horror has been shown on TV continually.
All normal programs have been canceled for the day, and we have seen nothing but the plane crashes and ensuing chaos.
I do hope and pray that you have no family in the affected districts.
Queensland is now twixt the devil and the deep as we are supposed to host (the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting) in Brisbane next month. Many people want it canceled, but our Premier says we should not give in to terrorism.
I do agree with him, but pray that security will leave no stone unturned for the safety of Queen Elizabeth and all the other heads of state and also the residents of Brisbane, not least of all our daughter Kim and her children who live there.
Take care of yourself.
