Senior Thrift Store Profits Stay Here

In response to the What's Up? answer from Joe Kane of Goodwill (April 12, Roundup), we wish to respond to the statement quoted by Laurie Thomas, director of marketing for Goodwill of Central Arizona.

Thomas said, "You can't compare a human service agency (like Goodwill) to regular thrift stores. Many of them are for profits and only return a small portion of those profits to the cause they represent."

The Payson Thrift Store is nonprofit, run entirely by volunteers, and 100 percent of proceeds supports the Senior Center and its programs for the elderly of the community.
