You Know What Happens When You Assume?

Councilman Spencer is going out like a shock of electricity. The "factual information" from Payson Public Works Director Buzz Walker was full of assumptions. The 2002 status report and chart projecting growth beyond 2000 used the words "assuming," "assumes" or "assumptions" numerous times.

On the other hand, Councilman Herron used information provided by Walker and a calculator to prepare his calculations.

It's interesting that when plain old arithmetic fails to produce desired results, bureaucrats will opt instead to use special formulas and a whole lot of assumptions to prepare "factual" statistical reports.

You know what they say about those who "assume"? I've found that when one reports to assumptions, they really haven't a clue.
