August Pool Schedule
The pool will be open until Aug. 18 with the following schedule: Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. (water aerobics), 10 a.m. to noon (open swim), and 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (water aerobics); Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (open swim).
THE POOL HAS BEEN RESERVED BY ASU AND WILL BE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC AUG. 11.
Adult Fall Co-Ed Softball
Registration will be held from Aug. 5 through Aug. 23 at the Parks & Recreation office. The entry fee is $175 per team. The league is limited to 10 teams, and games will be held Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays beginning Sept. 3.
Ride the Train to the Canyon
Relax and enjoy the scenery as you ride aboard the Grand Canyon Railway to the Grand Canyon. Upon arrival at the canyon, enjoy three hours of free time to relax at one of the many restaurants for lunch and explore and photograph the many scenic points. A stop at the Canyon IMAX and surrounding eateries will conclude your trip before returning to Payson. This day trip will take place Oct. 8, 2002. The cost is $84 per person, which includes the motorcoach, train fare, park entrance fee, and IMAX fee. Registration is currently being accepted at the Parks & Recreation office until Sept. 7. Tour is limited to 48 participants so sign up now.
Explore Kartchner Caverns
Experience one of Arizona's most unusual state parks. Tour a living limestone cave featuring dynamic structures such as stalactites, stalagmites, and other unusual formations. This trip will take place Dec. 3, 2002. The cost is $43 per person, which includes the motorcoach and park entrance fee. Registration is currently being accepted at the Parks & Rec office until Nov. 2, 2002. Tour is limited to 46 participants so sign up now!

- Due to the extreme fire danger, charcoal, wood fires, candles, and open flames of any kind are prohibited within the Payson Parks system. Anyone wishing to cook food in the park should use a gas grill.
