Payson's No. 1 In High Gas Prices

Editor:

Congratulations, Payson you're No. 1.

My family and I returned recently from an 18-day, 12-state tour and vacation, and I am proud to report that Payson has the highest priced gas of anywhere we went.

I bought gas at West Yellowstone on the 4th of July weekend for 13-cents-per-gallon less than it is currently priced in Payson. I am not talking cut-rate stations but major brand Texaco which I buy everywhere so I can keep records on my gas card for Uncle Sam.

Small towns in the middle of Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Iowa, Minnesota, Nevada and Idaho all have cheaper gas than Payson. It makes me proud to live here and be able to say we are No. 1.

I have lived here for 14 years, and it's always been the same.

Congratulations.

Dave Crowell, Payson
