Jess G. Courter, 86, of Payson, died Aug. 21, 2002. He was born Nov. 5, 1915, in Danville, Ill.
Mr. Courter married his wife, Catherine, 64 years ago in Peoria, Ill. He served in the Illinois National Guard and the U.S. Army during World War II. He moved to California in 1946 and raised two daughters.
He worked in aerospace as a welding engineer for Boeing North American and retired in 1976.
He moved to Payson in June with his wife to live with his daughter and her husband.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine M. Courter of Payson; daughter, Joan D. Skinner and husband, James, of Payson; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 in the Old North Church at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, Calif.
