Time For School Board To Do The Right Thing

It would be a great disservice to the community if the children in elementary school are denied instrumental music. The current superintendent and school board should have made the commitment two years ago to hire a full-time teacher. Unfortunately they didn't .

Statistics bear out the fact that instrumental music, as well as the other fine arts, enhance young minds and helps students to achieve higher levels of comprehension in the core subjects of reading, writing, and arithmetic.

My mother understood the importance of a "well-balanced education" and dedicated 57 years of her life to the education of children.

I hope that the superintendent and school board finally come to the same understanding and do the right thing. Hire a full-time elementary instrumental band instructor.
