It's Labor Day weekend and the Christopher Creek Fire Belles and Beaus along with the Fire Cadets will be hosting a Huge Labor Day Fest all day Saturday, Aug. 31 at the Christopher Creek Fire Department.
There will be a raffle for some really nice prizes. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and you can get them at the fire station.
There will be a bake sale, crafts, a car wash, homemade tortillas and burritos, pictures of the children on the fire truck and much more.
Come hungry, and get there early.
All of this is to raise money for the Fire Belles, Beaus and Cadets.
Doors open at 8 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. There will be a potluck at 6 p.m. and bingo at 7 p.m.
Everyone is welcome. Come out and show your support.
There is extra parking in the Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship Church parking lot next door.
Trash that Maytag
Gila County will have an appliance-disposal day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at the Christopher Creek transfer station. This is an opportunity to dispose of old appliances lying around for free. It is limited to washers, dryers, stoves, dishwashers, metal heaters, refrigerators and coolers. You can't beat the price.
John and Olive Matus, owners of Creekside Restaurant, will host a free lunch for all the widows in Christopher Creek. It seems that the community has a lot of these ladies, and Olive would like for them to come out and meet each other and maybe make a friend for life. It is on John and Olive at Creekside. Sept. 11 at noon.
