Two Teens Arrested For Sexual Abuse Of Minors

Two Payson teen-age boys have been arrested for sexual abuse of two minor girls.

Lt. Don Engler of the Payson Police Department said the case started as a missing juvenile investigation the evening of Nov. 19. In the course of the investigation, it was discovered that two minor girls were missing, a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old, both of Payson.

They were transported to Phoenix by two males, aged 18 and 17 years old.

Engler said it was during the transport the sexual abuse occurred. Both males were arrested Nov. 20 for sexual abuse. Engler stressed the charge is sexual abuse of the minors, not assault.

The 18-year-old also was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and providing alcohol to a minor.

The two girls were found and are back in Payson with their families.
