George Frederick Cornwell, 83, of Payson, died Dec. 5, 2002, following a brief illness.
Born Nov. 4, 1919, in Minnesota, Cornwell was an excellent woodworker and craftsman, as well as an avid sportsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors.
Mr. Cornwell moved to Payson in 1982 upon retirement as a Phoenix homebuilder and carpenter.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rosella (Rose), children, Georgia Randle of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Roberta Wieman of Los Angeles, Calif.; sister, Elaine Zelinske of West Concord, Minn.; and grandchildren, Julia Randle Castaneda and Scott Randle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
No services are planned. Mr. Cornwell will be laid to rest in West Concord, Minn.
