A Big Job Well Done

Carrying a bag of dog food almost as big as she is, Savannah Schultz proudly walks into the Payson Humane Society. The food and other pet supply items were collected by the Julia Randall Elementary School K-Kids to help the animals at the shelter.

The student group, sponsored by the local Kiwanis Club, collected blankets, towels, food, litter boxes, pet beds and even made toys for the animals as part of their semester community service project.

The children created signs and posters and set up drop boxes at local businesses around town to solicit the donated items.

Thirteen students unloaded two carloads of badly needed donations Tuesday.
