Cold Doesn't Stop Quad Squad Light Parade

Last Thursday was the 2nd Annual Quad Squad Christmas Light Parade. And although it was very cold, it didn't stop those quad lovers from showing up decorated and ready to ride.

Nancy Olson from Grey Hackle Lodge had her quad all lit up and two very large candles on each side. Her husband Eric had a cute plastic snowman along for the ride. Dan and Pam Christian had a large teddy bear riding along. Kevin Mystrum and Leona Pearsal showed up on their quads, as did George and Doris Billings.

My husband, Frank and my daughter, Frankie Jo decided to decorate the bobcat. They used a lot of lights, a wreath, a wooden Rudolph and a gingerbread. Frank decided he would dress as Santa and have some fun.

Santa led the group as they headed down Apple Lane and up Columbine to Creekside for the Christmas Party where Olive made use of Santa and had him pass out all the gifts to the little ones. All in all it was a lot of fun and I'm sure there will be another one next year.

There will be a potluck Party on Sunday Dec. 29 at 2 p.m. at the Landmark for John and Ingrid Monk. They are moving to Arkansas, and they will be truly missed.

They have been running the Village at Christopher Creek for some time now and decided it was time for a move. I will miss Ingrid for she has helped me through a lot when I opened our cabins in April. They are really good people and this community really hates to lose them. We wish them well in their new move.

January Birthdays: New Year's babies, Mel Milhon and yours truly; the 3rd - Betty Mason; 6th - Kasey Hamilton and Jean Gardner; 8th - Barbara Foreman; 20th - Charles Byrne; 21st - Candy Smith and Kip Mystrum; 22nd - Dan Christian; 25th - Dolores Dale; and the 27th - Keith Tharp. Happy Birthday to all of you.

Well, it's going to be another year very soon. Have you made any New Year's resolutions? It seems that they are hard to keep so I won't make any. But there are some things I would like to see this New Year. I would like to see peace in this world, no hatred, and no prejudice. I would like to see the end to hunger. And for everyone to have a warm place to sleep. For all the children of this world to be loved, and an end to all violence.

Wishing all of you a Very Happy New Year.
