A mistrial was declared this week in the second trial of suspected murderer Paul Roosen.

Roosen is accused of the murder of Calista Wright Feb. 11, 2000 in her Star Valley home, and the attempted murder of her husband, Garrett.

Roosen's first trial in October 2001 was declared a mistrial.

His second, which started Dec. 11, also became a mistrial.

A spokesperson in the Superior Court clerk's office said the jury found Roosen not guilty of first degree murder. She said the jury could not come to a decision on the lesser charge of second degree murder of Calista Wright, or on the charge of attempted murder of Garrett Wright.

Roosen's third trial is scheduled for Feb. 25 before Superior Court Judge Robert Duber.
